Last year I was lucky enough to be sent on assignment for Vanity Fair to photograph a safari in Kenya along with some luxury Safari lodges, the delightful Segera Retreat and fantastic Angama Mara. It was a huge privilege and a wonderful adventure. Below is the resulting spread.
And here are some extra shots from the trip
This was a recent commission for the Financial Times Weekend magazine
I recently flew to Germany to photograph Mark Webber at the Nürburgring for the Red Bulletin. We had Mark and an unreleased Porsche 911 GT3 RS for the afternoon and I have to say it was a most enjoyable shoot! - Mark's an utter gent and consummate professional so he was a pleasure to work with. The online story with other snaps and a great on board video can be found here.
I was recently commissioned to photograph the pilot Mark Vanhoenacker for the Financial Times Weekend magazine. Mark has recently written a book extolling the virtues and beauty of human flight, given the recent events in aviation it is a good counter point to the negativity out there and offers and interesting perspective on things. You can find the book here.
At the end of last year I was asked by the charity ActionAid UK to travel to Myanmar to document a trip by the British TV personality Hugh Dennis as he ventured out there to meet a child he sponsors in the country (see above). It was an amazing, eye opening trip, and as ever I was humbled by the generosity and warmth of the people we met, not only the team of translators and field workers we worked alongside, but the subjects of the images and the communities we visited. Below are a selection of images from the trip - you can find out more about it and see a video from the trip here.
I was recently asked to contribute some images to a project being run by the talented folks at The Church of London, a book titled Paddle Against the Flow. Over the years I've shot a number of commissions for HUCK magazine and it was these that have been used in the publication. The book looks at influencers and icons across the creative spectrum and asks for their pearls of wisdom. It's a great coffee table book, and a nice thing to be able to pick up and dip into. Available in all good bookshops and online here
My portraits below of photographer Boogie and the artist Swoon appear in the book amongst others..
Portrait of Christopher Hampton, playwright, screenwright and Film Director, won an Oscar for Best adapted Screenplay (1988) for Dangerous Liaisons.
I was recently commissioned to shoot Ben Palmer, the Film Director behind the Inbetweeners movie and TV's Bo Selecta for FHM magazine. Made a bit of mess in the cinema with the popcorn. Above is the shot that ran and below is an extra. Shot on location at Screen on the Green in Angel.
