Tearsheets - Guardian

Had two spreads in the Guardian over the weekend - both on UK travel; one being in Kent (above) the other in Lincoln (top). I was pleased how they came out especially as the Kent story involved walking for many miles in driving rain and coastal winds! Lincoln was certainly more fun in that respect - we lucked out with the weather. I'll post some more images from that commission soon. Here's two quick diptychs from Lincoln

Behind the Scenes: Jonathan Ross

An image from a few weeks ago taken after a shoot with Jonathan Ross. The picture I was taking was all part of a project that will be revealed in a few weeks. Jonathan was kind enough to let us shoot in his house - which owing the type of character he is, was certainly interesting; he has insane collections of all sorts of comics, gizmos and gadgets and probably more cameras than me (believe it or not!). He made us feel incredibly welcome and his humour made the whole shoot great fun. Cheers to Andrew (on the left above) for helping out too. Watch this space for images from that day.

Portraits from yesteryear

These are some images from the archive. I'm currently preparing for a talk that I'll be giving tomorrow night in the city to a photographic society and whilst looking for some images from the beginning of my photographic journey, I discovered these two portraits. These were shot on an old Chinon SLR that I bought off a teacher at school. Not sure what the film was as these are scans of prints...and the negs are in a garage somewhere! The one of the left is an ex-girlfriend and the one to right is a waiter on a cigarette break at restaurant where I used to wash pots as a teenager.
